May 24 2016

May 24: We are fast approaching June with loads of dates coming in for a variety of reasons - some clubs, some pubs and some charity support - more than 15 dates! Go to EVENTS to find out more. Airplay coming in from all over Europe at the moment: France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia. Our show with Cale was such a brilliant night - and he said we were 'awesome support'. He was an awesome headliner! R2 gave us a review that put us somewhere between Mary Chapin Carpenter and Aimee Mann. Nice! We're supporting the charity FOR which is fundraising for refugees June 18 - 25. We're also a part of the Busk 'til Dusk event in August. AND we can't WAIT for our show with Jonathan Byrd at The Place theatre on June 30. A soft cd release event for us but more importantly, Jonathan is BACK IN BEDFORD!

May 10: Our tour with Laura Cantrell was wonderful. We made new fans and friends and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone out on the road! Tonight is our one show with Cale Tyson in Milton Keynes. Our track on R2 is out now (May/June issue 57). More fan feedback: 'it's like a delicately passionate love letter to the American South, soulfully crafted into something really special. Kris  has a voice like sugared espresso, low and evocative with a sweet aftertaste and her eloquently confessional lyrics hit you right in the heart.'

It's May 1st and that must mean THE PRE-ORDER HAS BEGUN! Welcome! Buy the download NOW (before it's June 20 release) and get the title tracks for FREE RIGHT NOW. Only Amazon and iTunes, but's that ok, right?

Also very pleased to say we are featured in a House of Mercy radio show to be aired very soon AND we have been selected for a prime Saturday night slot at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival on June 11!

My Girl The River is very pleased to be working with Peter from Hemifran in Europe for all things PR, review, radio oriented. Peter is the real deal and will do us proud!

First Fan Feedback for the album and we are completely stunned. 'We love the CD. 'Right up there with Lucinda Williams, kd Lang, Eva Cassidy and Gillian Welch.' - now that is serious praise! Thank you Dave and Denise from Shrewsbury!!

January 2106

First festival date in and it's a whopper! Isle of Wight has asked My Girl The River (MGTR) to perform on the acoustic stage (June 9 - 12). Our date will be confirmed soon, but this is truly an honour! MGTR has a very special gig 'first' on March 16 with MC Hansen (Danish folk award winner) AND Jacob Lundby. We will be performing some of the album with Jacob, who also played drums on for us. Click HERE for more info. February will be spent sending out press packs, preparing the single (just you wait!) and booking tour dates for September/October. If you want MGTR to play in your UK town, submit a request throught the form HERE.

Our cd single arrived on February 3! Doesn't it look wonderful? It sounds even better! Can't wait to release it end of March.
